Keith Kondakor, Friends of the Earth gave a very enlightening talk on the impact of Incineration at the Loughborough Public meeting.  One document that he recommend we read is attached:  http://www.ecomed.org.uk/content/IncineratorReport_v3.pdf

After reading that report, you wondered how Leicestershire County Council Planning Department could possibly ignore it and permit the incinerator. Read it, if you haven't already : the adverse health effects are horrenous. Unfortunately, in the sad world of 'government' the County Council could too easily ignore it. The problem is, they're probably too occupied shuffling irrelevant bits of paper around to be aware of the real world or the genuine concerns of we 'ordinary people'.

My third letter of objection to LCC included the Kondakor link. I wonder if anyone in the Council Planning Office will spare the time to display it on their computer, read it, take it on board and convince their colleagues in the Planning Office? I'm just one voice. We need more voices if we want to be heard and listened to.

Shepshed folk MUST write letters of objection to these people, educate them as to these severe health risks and strongly object to the Biffa application, with their reasons. A few letters will be too easy to ignore - we need everyone in Shepshed to flood that cosy County Council Planning Office with letters of protest. Go on, do something you'll be proud of.

Otherwise, Shepshed could so easily lose this fight ; apathy and laziness are killers, as surely as incinerator gasses are.
